Welwyn Hatfield Shopmobility provide free use of powered scooters and manual wheelchairs, helping people with walking difficulties to shop in the town centre.

There are two Shopmobility centres in the borough:

    The Galleria, Hatfield
    Howard Centre, WGC

We provide powered scooters to drive yourself around the shops or manual wheelchairs for someone to push you around in.

If you have severe mobility difficulties, by prior arrangement, we will meet you at your car with a scooter or wheelchair.

Wheelchairs can also be borrowed for up to twelve weeks, for example, if you are going on holiday or recovering from an accident. This service is available from the Jim McDonald Centre, Hilltop, Hatfield. It is advisable to ring in advance 01707 270066. A hire fee of £5 per week is chargeable.
